One year older and wiser too!?!?!?

Took the day off for Jay's birthday on March 24th.  That morning I secretly took Jay's truck when I dropped Keaton off at school and got it washed for him on the way home.  We got to sleep in a little then headed out for lunch and pedicures....everyone needs a bit of pampering.
We also bought a new bed...upgraded from queen to king....it was a gift for me too!  Hopefully we'll get king size bedroom furniture for my birthday.
That evening we headed to Native New Yorker... it was March Madness and U of A was in the playoffs and they won!  Later that night we went to the movies and as a perfect closer to a birthday full of fun.....we came out to a flat tire!  Good thing we went with Jay's dad so we had some help at 12:30 in the morning!
We didn't have Jay's boys that week so we waited for a little family celebration until they came. As stated in a previous post, Jay was having a fishing obsession for a few month so he went out of town....but when he came back we were ready for him.

We had a nice dinner at home followed by presents and cake!
The boys bought him a gaming chair..which we ended up taking back because it was a little small.  The plan was to buy a bike but we didn't find one we liked for a reasonable price.  But never fear, we bought a scope for his gun that week, which cost more than both of those combined :)
This was our attempt at a family photo, I swear when I put the timer on we were all in the shot...someone must have bumped the table.
Happy 28th to my hubby...hope you enjoyed your big day!

SPRING BREAK

We were going to go out of town for Spring Break but decided against spending quite so much money.  But Jay did take a few days off so I told him we had to do "something" with the kids.  Besides the usual, eating out or movies....we went to the Museum of Natural History in downtown Mesa.

Conner didn't love being in a stroller but it prevented the "running" that almost two year old little boys like to do.  They all were fans of the DINOSAURS!
 My husband...almost being eaten alive!
The boys taking a little rest.
Daddy being a Native American woman and trying to craft a clay pot.
Panning for gold was Jay's favorite part....he was really trying to strike it rich for us.
Hooray for family fun time!

After the museum we took the family to Organ Stop pizza.  Jay had never been there before and I don't think he'll ever go back.  First of all if you go in March be prepared for bus loads of snowbirds.  Which means tons of old people moving slowly and taking up every seat!  Secondly, well the pizza sucks.  Third, you have to pay for drinks at  a different window than the food, so it means you have another long line to stand in.  Anyway....here is me and my hubby having a few moments of enjoyment listening to the music.
The boys of course didn't care about how "good" the pizza was and enjoyed the show.
This guy wanted "down" or wanted soda (which he spilled everywhere) the whole time so these shots with smiles are a few lucky moments.

Also during spring break Keaton started riding is bike without training wheels.  Jay had tried it with him before and he did pretty good but told us he was too scared.  Uncle Cooper took them off for him this time and he was set.  I was pretty excited....he's not even 5 yet.  Good job buddy.

Oh Shoot!

Oh Shoot...Part 1 - Filed our taxes right away and what did we end up with....guns.  Not my first choice, but we also got a new fridge and washer/dryer.

So here are some pics from our first few outings.  This is my gun.  It's a .22, simple to use, no kick, no real threat of hurting anyone.

Keaton is a decent shot, in a year from now he will be able to hold it by himself too.
Hayden's arms are not quite as long but he's getting it done.
And there I am....hate pics of myself....shooting "my" gun for the first time.
It was a beautiful day and a nice drive with the family.
Thanks to my husband for taking us out and keeping us safe.
Oh Shoot...Part 2  The next time we went out we had some friends with us (more guns), it was starting to get warmer and we had Conner with us so safety was a big concern.

Got the ears covered and face protected from the sun.
Snacks and video games, what else do little boys want?
 Let the fun begin....

We ended the day shooting a bow.....somehow I missed the memo that I should not fully straighten my arm.  This is the result of the string brushing past my arm.
And the grossness continued a few days later.
I'm sure I have at least a few more shooting pics but I'll spare the world for now.
Fun times with the Verry Family.
